This exhibition focuses on the use of wood in design and construction in architecture. It was curated by Alder Architects, Dublin and b210 Architects, Tallinn and commissioned by the Estonian Association of Architects (EAA), Estonian Centre for Architecture (ECA) and Irish Architecture Foundation (IAF).  Together with our Estonian team counterparts, Ruumiringlus, our focus has been to develop a method of design with particular emphasis on existing context and the reuse of materials.

We have been engaged in a dialogue with Ruumiringlus whereby instructions and materials have been sent between Ireland and Estonia. By foregoing conventional architectural drawings, we hope to explore the impact of interpretation in developing and building a design. The outcome of the process is a timber artefact for conversation and display. Some of the construction wood is new and some reused, collected from Estonia and Ireland.
